"I highly recommend the MERS system for use in all levels, classroom,
and continuing education. MERS is fun, educational, and user friendly.
The three things I value the most in my classroom! Being CD based
eliminates the speed or server problems that sometimes effect internet
based evaluation tools. I like its flexibility of format as I use both
PC and Mac to teach.
I use it as an incentive to learn. I foster a
spirit of competition Teams of students compete with other teams on
the MERS simulations. They must study to know the information. With the
generous amount of cases available, teams must study hard the
curriculum standards so they make the right decisions.
Cases are based
on national DOT standards which is a plus as we can evaluate in a
similar fashion students are evaluated on certification exams. In other
words, the students have fun by competing, and are motivated to learn
by the spirit of competition, and is user friendly in that it requires
little prep time for the instructor, and is objective in measurement."
